Aufgaben

As Compliance Specialist, you will join HDI’s newly established Compliance function in Denmark and play a key role in strengthening governance and compliance across the branch. You will work closely with local management and collaborate with Group Compliance in Hannover, gaining both operational exposure and strategic insight. You will report to the Compliance Manager based in Copenhagen.

The compliance scope is rooted in corporate insurance, where due diligence primarily relates to sanctions and integrity risk in connection with corporate clients, brokers/intermediaries, and relevant third parties.

Your key tasks will include:
• Managing day-to-day compliance, governance, and risk-related activities in the Danish branch
• Planning and conducting compliance monitoring, risk assessments, and follow-up actions
• Supporting and maintaining frameworks and controls within sanctions, third-party risk, conflicts of interest, licensing requirements, and related governance topics
• Reviewing internal policies, processes, contracts, and documentation to ensure regulatory compliance (e.g., Solvency II, GDPR, DORA, insurance regulation)
• Acting as a liaison between the Danish branch and key stakeholders at HQ/Group Compliance in Germany, and supporting reporting, training materials and awareness initiatives across the organization

Profil

You are structured, proactive, and motivated by making compliance an integrated and value-adding part of the business. You enjoy working across departments and thrive in a collaborative yet professional environment. This role suits you if you enjoy translating complex regulation into pragmatic, business-oriented solutions, and you’re eager to grow and take ownership in a developing compliance function.

• A relevant master’s degree in economics or law or (e.g., cand.merc., cand.merc.jur., cand.jur., or similar)
• Around 2–3 years of experience within compliance, risk, legal, or governance (insurance/financial services/consulting is a plus)
• Familiarity with corporate insurance compliance and working with frameworks such as Solvency II, GDPR, corporate governance
• A self-starting mindset and ability to drive tasks and smaller projects forward
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• High integrity, attention to detail, and sound judgement
• Fluency in Danish and English (written and spoken)
