Executive Procurement Manager (m/w/d) - Relocation to South Africa, Potchefstroom

Aufgaben

The Executive Procurement Manager for Plant Engineering Projects & Capex will be responsible for strategic and advanced purchasing activities within the given section capex machinery and civil works ensuring compliance with global purchasing objectives and strategies of Rheinmetall.

  • Lead general supplier affairs, e.g. claim management, analysis of potential suppliers, resourcing, financial Improvement, processes etc.
  • Systematic market research by continuous investigation of local and international markets
  • Lead final negotiation considering all purchasing criteria (review purchase requests, prepare bidders list, and select suppliers, evaluate quotes etc.)
  • Management of capex costs and related planning in order to achieve targets. Guarantee financial control over the programs (on component level)
  • Review quotations in preparation for supplier nomination, negotiate terms and conditions in compliance with overall business objectives. Prepare value analysis
  • Establish correspondence to suppliers, business representatives, and agencies Drive proven contract management and its acceptance in the local environment
  • Be constantly informed about national and international economic or business situations as they affect purchasing decisions for commodities assigned. Also, remain constantly alert to national, international, and state legal requirements
  • Set-up of team structure. Manage, motivate and develop team members
  • Be a leader who demonstrates determination, energy and enthusiasm
  • You will have an open and flexible approach, willing to work in a constantly evolving/ growing environment and accept a challenge

Profil

  • BTech Degree in Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent qualification
  • At least 7-10 years in purchasing experience of which 3 years should have been in a defence company
  • At least 2-5 years in a leadership role and team management experience
  • Priority setting, strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in capex purchasing
  • Knowledge of technical drawings reading
  • A team player who demonstrates determination, energy and enthusiasm
  • Have an open and flexible approach, willing to work in constantly evolving / growing environments and accept the challenge
  • Analytical skills, proactive approach
  • Ability to express information in a manner appropriate to different levels of people and to lead negotiations
  • Willingness and ability to travel
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage across technical and non-technical audiences
